For a kid’s party idea close to Derby and Nottingham, our thrill packed raft building party takes a lot of beating.
On arrival all the children will be presented with their wetsuits, safety helmets and buoyancy aids (we’ve got really good changing rooms on site with lockers.)
OK, then we split the group into 2 teams, and each team gets presented with all kinds of objects. Your mission is to build and ride on your own raft! Will you paddle your way to the winner’s podium or will your raft break apart like wet sand?
The location is absolutely perfect for this activity. It’s set on one of the prettiest and safest reservoirs in Derbyshire and the Peak District, and there are some great facilities on site too, including a café and a restaurant.
And there are lots of BBQ’s available dotted around the reservoir too, so if you want to bring a picnic or order some party food you can make a day of it.
There are always lots of water sports going on, so there is plenty of entertainment to keep the kids occupied while having some food.
If you’re not sure where to start when it comes to building a raft don’t worry – our Instructors are always on hand to give you some helpful guidance (if you smile at them sweetly!)
Once you’ve managed to get on the water you’ll face all sorts of silly challenges whilst racing against the other team to victory. Honestly, this kid’s party activity is truly hilarious!
Children taking part do need to be water confident, although they don’t need to be able to swim as buoyancy aids are provided.
